Dear Friends, Welcome to Sakakawea Country - home to the rugged, beautiful landscape explored by Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery more than 200 years ago. This is where their real adventure began, and where the explorers met Sakakawea, who accompanied them on their journey west and became an invaluable part of the expedition. Just as the Corps of Discovery did two centuries ago, you, too, can experience the legendary history and adventure of Sakakawea Country.
